Have you ever stopped to think about the number of memories you have with your spouse? I do not mean looking at the big days like your wedding or the birth of children or even vacations. I am talking about the day to day things that have happened that the two of you have shared. As with most people I am sure that some of the memories bring a smile to your face and others bring a tear to your eye, but they are all important because they are what have formed your relationship.
My husband and I will be married for twenty three years in a few weeks. We have had many experiences together. One of the funniest ones came to mind the other day when I was shopping for shoes. I walked past the men’s athletic shoes and saw a pair of converse high tops. My husband was also in the show store but he was looking for a pair of dress shoes. I asked the clerk if they had the converse high tops in a size thirteen. He said that he was sure they did. I asked him to take them over to my husband. I loitered around the racks of shoes waiting for the clerk to take the shoes to my husband. When my husband sat down and opened the box he instantly started looking around the store for me. When we were first married the converse high tops were the in shoe. My husband is only six feet tall but he wears a size thirteen shoe. I in contrast wear a five. When he was trying on the high tops I was also trying on a pair. They were very funny to see next to each other. When I saw the size of his show I had asked the clerk if they came with oars. The clerk and I laughed for quite a while about this. When ever I see a high top sneaker I think about how large they look in a size thirteen. It took several years before he went into a show store with me after that.
After the clerk brought him the box of shoes I went looking for my own shoes and left my husband to try on his. When I was waiting for a clerk to bring me my size I noticed a couple of young girls giggling. I looked behind me to see that my husband had put on the converse high tops and had rolled up his pant legs so the full shoe and part of his skinny leg was showing. He was prancing around the store looking in each of the mirrors. Many of the customers were pointing and laughing at him. Of course he had to come and put his arm around me and announce to the customers that I had picked out the shoes for him.

Teens these days love the old trends that were set back in the late 80’s or early 90’s. They especially love some of the fashions that were popular. Punk rock and the attitude of not conforming were huge and now some teens today like that attitude. They want to dress like The Sex Pistols and act with that “not giving a care†persona. Skaters today especially have those attitudes since they will dress, act or skate however and whenever they want to. To complete the look of this type of teen, you will need some sweet shoes like Converse high tops to let everyone know that you mean business.
The most popular style in this footwear is white with black soles. They are very suitable for skaters since they have that punk look but the soles have grips which are good for the board. Even if you aren’t a skater but you still really like the punk look then you can still wear Converse high tops. Some of the styles come with skulls on them which are for the really hardcore punk rockers.
They just aren’t for guys. A lot of girls are into the punk look so Converse has shoes for them. Some of the shoes come in pink colors with skulls on them or different punk designs. If you’re a punk girl looking for a pair of shoes other than some typical skater shoes, then go with a pair of classic Converse high tops and you will be sure to score yourself a bad, skater boy. You really don’t have to know how to use a skateboard to wear these stylish pieces of footwear.
Not only were these shoes popular amongst the punks, but they were huge in 80’s basketball. The high tops, and short shorts completed any 80’s basketball star. The colors came in bright hues so they looked different than the typical punk styles. You can still buy these Converse high tops today so you can bring back that rad style from the 80’s that everyone secretly misses but you’ll be the only one brave enough to wear it.
These eye-catching shoes are certainly something different which is great for anyone with lots of self confidence. Most people are scared of bringing attention to them, but other people just bask in it. If you aren’t afraid of wearing something that’s off the beaten path, like wearing a pair of black shoes with skulls on them or bright baby blue shoes, the grab a pair of Converse high tops and hit the streets near you.

There are many things that feel like a waste of money, even when they are not. In my mind, one of the biggest money problems I have is children’s shoes. Though they don’t have to be expensive, the money can add up when you have to buy new sizes once or even twice a year. If you have a child going through a growth spurt, you never know if their shoes are going to fit from one day to the next. That is why it is smart of find good shoes at a good price. Otherwise, you may need a second job.
I thought, at one time, if I just spend very little money on children’s shoes, I wouldn’t feel the pinch as bad each time my daughter goes up a size. What I found was that cheap shoes are cheap shoes. They never lasted, and I would have to buy more of the same size before she was ready to move up. That’s not exactly what I would call saving money. So, I learned to spend a little more without having to buy the most expensive so that they would stay in good shape until she needed a new size.
That can be tricky though. You can find some great children’s shoes that are very inexpensive, but you only want to do that when it is something they are not going to wear very often. Even then, you have to make sure they are decent, because you don’t want the shoes to hurt your child’s feet. When buying dress shoes, you can save some money at places like Payless Shoes, but if they wear them more than a few times a month, they are not going to last very long. They have great shoes, but they might not be the best place for everyday children’s shoes.
I have found that going to a department store for children’s shoes is the best way to go. They have the very expensive ones, but they also have some very good mid priced shoes that will last throughout the year, but don’t cost as much as adult shoes might. They are pretty well made, and some manufacturers of children’s shoes know that children grow fast, and many don’t want to spend a ton of money on a pair of sneakers for a five year old. Do a little searching in department stores, and even online, and find some good quality shoes at a decent price.

Just because you are on a limited budget does not mean that you have to dress in a drab or boring way. As a matter of fact, with very little expenses and some careful planning, you can put together fabulous outfits for almost nothing. In the past few years, second hand stores have gotten more and more popular, and so prices have gone up. Nonetheless, if you know where to shop, you can still find cheap secondhand clothing at the right stores. If you go into Salvation Army stores in poorer parts of the city, for example, you can find plenty of discount clothes. As a matter of fact, about the only part of your outfit that you can’t find secondhand at a cheap price is the shoes. Some second hand stores have a cheap shoe section, but the pickings are usually slim and it is always hit or miss as to whether or not you can find the right size.
If you want to get discount shoes, you have to go to an outlet store. Fortunately, there are plenty of stores that specialize in cheap shoes. As long as you don’t have this years model in mind, you can usually get a pair for much less than you would buy it for elsewhere. My last pair of cheap Adidas shoes, for example, cost less than half as much as they should have at any conventional retail shoe store. The same thing goes for dress shoes, boots, hiking shoes, and all other styles. You can even find high-quality cheap running shoes if you look hard enough.
Of course, cheap shoes are much harder to find for people with irregularly shaped feet. I have a brother who has this problem. His feet are huge. Not only are they a size 13, but they are extra wide. Usually, he doesn’t even bother to look for cheap shoes. He will take anything that he can find that will fit his feet, as a matter of fact!
Still, even if you have big feet, you can still find cheap shoes if you know where to look. The key is to find a brand that fits you well and stick with it. New balance are great shoes for people with wide feet. Whenever my brother is anywhere near a new balance shoe outlet, he goes and stocks up. He buys five or six pairs of shoes, and he’s good for the next year or two.
